The bloggers who I read the most ofter are the one's who actually WRITE. While I love looking at the amazing artistry of some of SL's best fashion photgraphers, I love to get lost in the words and worlds, of others. My person favorite blog of all time is An Chailín Alainn, written by, in my opinion, one of the best writers in Second Life, Caoimhe Lionheart. I always leave her blog with a new perspective on something or new ideas or just a smiles (occasionally) a frown...but it always makes me THINK. The fact that I believe that Cao is also one of the greatest stylists currently working on the grid also helps. Her fashion and styling inspires me, and I find that now, I am also going to rl fashion pictures to get inspired. And, most importantly, I am reading again. Something I stopped doing once I moved down to Florida for lack of "time" (Would finish a book a week on the subway commute to and from work).
I miss those days of the past, when I was a new blogger, when I would post more than once a day or at least everyday. Everything was so new and exciting. I also didn't really pay much attention to composition or posing. I look back at some of my earlier blog posts and I see the poses I picked...hands shooting straight through skirts, bracelets cutting through my arms, just not great prim editing for the pose...and I cringe. But I also remember how excited I was when I got a comment. When I saw that 20 people looked at my page. When the shiny wears off of something, you have to find new ways to keep your passion going. And I do know that I do have a passion for SL Fashion, but I guess in my case, two years ago, ignorance was bliss. It was fun and something to keep me busy when my sl partner left SL for greener pastures (AKA WoW) and we would talk on skype instead of being on sl together. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, or that I don't love doing this, because I do. Just feeling beige about a lot of things right now and eventually, feeling beige in RL will leak into SL.
I am also a little cranky cause my computer is starting to throw a hissy fit when I attempt to go into lighting and shadows. I love the effects it creates without having to photoshop anything, something I have always prided myself on. So I am also wondering, Do i learn PS so I can get my pictures to compete with others, or do I stay stagnant and do what I always have done. I get cranky with change. I wish I could be one of those people who embraces it with excitement, but I am a New Yorker. My gut reaction is to whine. This is where I begin to ramble and so I digress.
